Photosynthesis is the process of converting light energy and transforming in into chemical energy and storing it in the bonds of sugars. Photosynthesis primarily takes place in the leaves of plants. All photosynthesis occurs in the chloroplast. The energy harvested by the plant is stored by creating ATP. The energy is then released in the form of oxygen. In cellular respiration energy is converted from the chemical bond glucose to the usable form of ATP. The energy is released when the bond is broken between two phosphate groups.
